Bracha Lavee is an Israeli artist whose expressive art combines Jerusalem, Israeli and Bible themes with a contemporary visual style which is deeply rooted in ancient and modern biblical experiences. Her use of felt in bright, semi-tropical colors allows her to express these themes dramatically.
DESCRIPTION: This biblical piece depicts scenes from the Great Flood. Shown is the Ark of Noah, receding waters, and the rainbow which today symbolizes that there won't be any more Great Floods. Also pictured is the dove that Noah sent out from the Ark to see if the water had receded. The dove returned with an olive leaf showing that it was already dry outside. This print is done in typical Bracha Lavee style, using gold foil edging and outlining parts of the picture to give it that aura of mystery.
