DESCRIPTION: A beautiful piece of artwork done in classic style. This still life painting features a painting with a vase of flowers, an antique looking clock, a candelabra and grapes all on an ornate looking table. The flowers are slightly textured which adds depth. It is set against a curtain serving as the background which adds to the richness of the scene.
CONDITION: The canvas appears to be intact with no obvious repairs. There is some slight paint loss mostly at the edges of the canvas. A small area of paint loss is seen in the photograph at upper left. There are some marks where stretcher bars are. The painting can absolutely be framed and hung as is.
ARTIST INFORMATION: The rich complex tones Garo favors in his classic paintings are a throwback to the Old Master's Styles, reminiscent of the type of priceless heirlooms adorning the walls of museums and mansions alike. It is surprising to learn how very young this accomplished artist is, given the aura of antiquity that surrounds his work.
Born in Georgia, USSR, Garro spent ten years in intensive study, gaining a broad base of skills with diversified materials. Thus is he able to produce a varied assortment of paintings as diverse as the colors of his palette. His own experiences on two continents give him the insight to bridge both European and American cultures, with results that are unique, and at the same time retain the flavor of age-old art.
